Reverend Jose Perez
Reverend Perez was a trail blazer in the establishment of the Hispanic Evangelical Church in New England. He was the Founder and Pastor of Worcester’s first Hispanic Evangelical Church (Pentecostal Rock of Salvation located at 829 Main Street Worcester MA 01610), he enjoyed preaching the Lord’s gospel, and devoted his life to the spiritual development of people, and his family.
Reverend Perez was born on March 19, 1924 in Puerto Rico, the son of Ramon Perez and Encarnacion Soto. A nationally recognized Evangelical leader for over 45 years, he received his degree in Theology from the Latin American Bible Institute of New York in 1969. He honorably served his country during World War II, and the Korean War where he achieved the rank of Sergeant, and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart for bravery as a member of the 65th Infantry (The Borinqueneers) from Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.
On Tuesday, February 22, 2011, Reverend Jose Perez passed away at his home in Worcester with his family by his side.

Reverend Ramona Perez
Reverend Ramona was born on April 1, 1930 in Vieques, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Juan Cruz and Hijinia Mata. After graduation from high school, she earned a Master's of Religious Education from the Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary School, in Boston, MA. Ramona was a pastor and loving daughter of God.
Reverend Ramona (Cruz) Perez, 92 of Worcester, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, December 16, 2022 with her family gathered by her side. Reverend Jose Perez and Reverend Ramona Perez are survived by their nine children, Mercedes, Jose Miguel, Jose Ramon, Carlos, Maria, Ralph, Edgar, Nelly and David; Rev. Jose Perez is also survived by his sisters: Graciana, Cecilia Perez, and his brother, Moises. Reverend Ramona Perez; is also survived by three sisters, Monserrate Cruz, Eulalia Cruz, and Gloria Sanchez all of Puerto Rico; 30 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She is predeceased by three brothers and a sister, Miguel Angel Carmona, Carlos Cruz, Juan Cruz and Generosa Santana.
